The ability to talk about your product or service in a compelling way is a fundamental part of doing business and is often referred to as an 'elevator pitch'.
Because of this, part of the process for winning one of our monthly £1,000 Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Awards is the creation of a one minute elevator pitch video that other people can watch and vote for if they think you deserve the funding. (These votes are then combined with the scores given by an independent panel of judges to decide on the winners that month).
The 10 young entrepreneurs listed below have received the highest number of online votes for their elevator pitches (so far). Take 10 minutes to watch them all and see what's so good about them...
You can also tell us what you think by leaving a brief comment at the bottom of this page or in our Discussion Forum thread 'What makes a good elevator pitch?'
1. Andrew McAllister (Water4Ethiopia)
2. Christopher Bushell (Bikehireuk)
3. Ali Smith (Art Pistol)
4. Katie Hudson (Pro Science)
5. Hayley Revell (Northern League Football Premiership Passion)
6. David McGranaghan (Starring Roll)
7. Kilian Palop & Glenn Buchan (Adspad)
8. Robert Grisdale (ScratchBikes / then called WhipBikes)
9. James Poulter (UNILIBRI Ltd)
10. Joe Revell (We Are Green)
Note: Despite receiving some of the highest number of online votes for their video, some of these entrepreneurs still haven't won a £1,000 award because their application form has just fallen short in the judges scoring. However, with this much support for their business idea, we're sure it's only a matter of time before they do and that you'll be hearing a lot more from them in the future.
