News | StartUp Games for Technology Startups (29th-31st August 2012)
Thursday 9th August 2012
London is in the middle of hosting the 30th Olympiad - a magnificent showcase for the country, the capital and, in particular, for Tech City.
The inaugural Start-Up Games, announced by No. 10, will bring together technology start-ups from all over the world to compete, in the spirit of The Games, for the prestige and PR of being recognised as being among the high growth companies of the future.
As well as an exceptional opportunity to network and gain publicity in the unique atmosphere and environment of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, hear and mingle with key speakers from companies such as Google, Facebook and Yammer and investors like Bloomberg and JP Morgan.
Primarily the winners will get the kudos and publicity associated with having been recognised by their UK and International peers as having the highest potential in their category; but just like previous events such as the 2011 Entrepreneurs Festival, there will be other prizes too, including valuable products and services provided by generous businesses which will be invaluable in accelerating the winners' growth and tickets to Paralympic sporting events. We of course do not offer cash prizes or investment.
This is a great time to be in London and Tech City, and the Start-Up Games offers young companies the perfect reason to visit at this special time.
Start-Up Games will be taking place between Wednesday 29th to Friday 31st August 2012 at Hackney House in the heart of Tech City, London - The Digital Capital of Europe.
