Jodie Hughes, who set up her own business while an undergraduate at Sitrling University, is one of five entrepreneurs in the UK shortlisted in the undergraduate category of the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards.
Jodie runs the marketing and advertising business Adspad, formerly ran by Glenn Buchan and Killian Palop who won a Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award for their creation of the business.
“Adspad is an advertising and marketing company targeting students between 16 and 25 years old,” says Jodie. “We produce 3D table toppers and sell advertising space on them. In the last year, I have expanded Adspad to universities and colleges throughout the West of Scotland and beyond. When I was nominated for the Awards I had to submit my business and financial plans to Santander and it feels amazing to be in the final five – all the hard work does pay off.”
A panel of judges from Santander’s Business and Corporate Banking Divisions shortlisted five undergraduate and five postgraduate business plans for the Awards. The winners will receive cash prizes ranging from £20,000 for first prize in the postgraduate category to £1,000 for third prize in the undergraduate category.
Jodie won her Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award with her business My Health Cards, for your chance to be a Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award you can enter today via the Awards page.
