These 4 young entrepreneurs have each won £1000 for their start-up in June's Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Awards!
Michael Corrigan (trtl)
trtl sleepscarf (pronounced ‘turtle’) is the next generation of travel pillow. The trtl sleepscarf is supportive and comfortable, allowing traveller’s to sleep for up to 8 hours in economy class. It looks just like a scarf so it’s more elegant than a travel pillow, is incredibly light, and packs easily inside or outside your luggage. trtl are currently stocked in The Excess Baggage Company, Terminals 4 and 5 of Heathrow Airport, St Pancras International, and will soon be stocked in Terminal 2 of Heathrow and Madrid Airports.
James Flynn (KitchPack Ltd) 
KitchPack provides high quality, 33-piece kitchenware sets for new students to collect upon arriving at university. The business helps first year students to save money on essential kitchenware, ensuring that they have high-quality kitchenware upon arrival at university without the hassle of having to go out and buy it. After a successful launch at Lancaster University, KitchPack now have partnerships with St Andrews, Royal Holloway and 17 other top UK universities as well. The business provides its partner universities with a dedicated website to process orders, free delivery, free marketing materials and a commission on pre-orders.

Coflo is a social enterprise that focuses on the prevention of water wastage. Every minute of every day, in millions of homes around the world, quality fresh drinking water is lost to the drain due to inefficient showers. Coflo aim to reduce and eventually eradicate the amount of fresh water wasted each year by changing the way we shower. Coflo’s Eco-Shower product is a retrofitted attachment that reduces water wastage by collecting and recycling up to five litres of water as the shower is heating up to optimal temperature. Coflo utilises all water used during the shower and recycles water that is normally wasted during the showering process.

Nigel Westwood (Avélére Limited)
Avélére have created the first range of fashion display furniture for the home. Avélére want people to use their clothes to brighten up their houses and show their individuality, not hide them away in mass-produced wardrobes. Their products range from practical shoe storage solutions – using shoes as art around the home – to open wardrobes which hang from your ceiling, offering more space and easier access to clothes. All components for Avélére's products are supplied by a network of UK specialists which allows them to provide great quality products at affordable prices. Since their launch in 2013 Avélére have been successfully selling their products through multiple online channels.
Commiserations to Ben Benson (The Touring Local Cinema), Tom Charman (The Ember Club), Omar Farag (The Teabox Company LTD), Carys Langsdale (Carys L), Viraj Ratnalikar (Car Quids), Christina Taylor (The Aim Sky High Company) who were shortlisted but did not win this time and are encouraged to reapply.
