Imagine living in a traditional village on a tiny Fijian island. Imagine volunteering on community, youth and sports projects, which are making a real difference to underprivileged communities. Imagine spear fishing, trekking through the jungle and sailing a tall ship.

A Think Pacific expedition is a tough, eye opening and immensely rewarding journey. It’s the chance to explore places that most people only dream about, to appreciate the unique Fijian way of life and make a positive contribution to worthwhile local initiatives.

Think Pacific organise 10-week and 5-week guided volunteer expeditions to the outer islands of Fiji. You will volunteer on a mix of building, youth and sports coaching projects, before relaxing on sun drenched beaches, sailing castaway islands, kayaking lagoons and trekking jungle rainforests as we guide you through our favourite islands. It all adds up to an inspiring and action packed journey to the farthest corner of the globe.

Our expeditions are for gap year students, graduates and young career breakers aged 17 – 30. We’re looking for young and enthusiastic individuals. People who would prefer to experience Fiji as the locals do, rather than relaxing by the hotel pool. You’ll need to embrace a new culture, work side-by-side with people from all walks of life and not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved. Whether our goal is to build a school classroom or establish a sports league, it’s the positive attitude, drive and commitment our volunteers offer, rather than specific skills, which makes all the difference.

Our idea to create Think Pacific began almost a decade ago, as we left Heathrow and headed 10, 000 miles for the distant islands of the South Seas. After months of planning and poring over maps and guide books, we were leaving home with the strange anticipation and buzz of excitement you could only get from venturing into the unknown. Our experiences from then on were immense and beyond anything we could have imagined. We’ve been exploring this remote island paradise ever since. Think Pacific has grown from our passion for the culture, customs, islands and people of this beautiful corner of the earth.

Our aim was to create a small and personal company. An organisation which works with local partners to achieve ethical, responsible and sustainable development in the poorest Fijian communities, whilst allowing our volunteers to have a worthwhile and unique experience. We know Fiji like our own backyard. We have an enthusiasm for what we do which borders on an obsession and we would love to guide you out there. We look forward to meeting you on the other side of the world
