According to Allergy UK, 1 in 4 people are affected by allergies and 45% of the population has some form of food intolerance. As a sufferer of severe Salicylate Intolerance herself, Eilidh felt that turning a negative experience into a positive, proactive project for allergy awareness was a worthwhile use of her return to textile design at DJCAD; having taken time out to recover from a long illness caused by exposure to chemical allergens in the environment.Exploring the allergens themselves – including pollen, pets, lactose/dairy, wheat/gluten/coeliac, beestings, peanuts, etc. – through drawing, photography and sculpture. Using Sal-safe processes such as digital print to create a collection of garments containing hidden messages through embedded QR codes, Eilidh coveys a quirky sense of humour and fun in her work.http://donotfeedtheanimals.wordpress.com/
