1996 - Michael Richford and Gary Tibbitt (Optimum Test Solutions)

Michael Richford and Gary Tibbitt and their business, Optimum Test Solutions, walked away with the 1996 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Optimum Test Solutions (OTS) was set up as a manufacturer of specialst fixtures that were needed by the electronic manufacturing industry in the mid 1990s. The company also offered general support to customers through the precision engineering requirements of the electronic component test process.

Michael and Gary set up the business after spotting a gap in the market and used their valuable experience of the market and contacts they'd made from working for a rival company to set up OTS.
