Startup Website about the North East

Hi everyone,

I'm Jonny - a 17 (soon to be 18) year old web entrepreneur based in Newcastle. After attending the Teen Web Conference a few weeks ago and meeting Paul Lancaster, I'm seriously considering setting up a startup website similar to Shell LiveWireUK but associating it with startup businesses right here in the North East.

Given that London is the capital and is classed as the best place for businesses, Lancaster introduced me to the North East startup scene and I've been inspired by it to setup this website which will hopefully bring more media attention to the North East and encouragement to entrepreneurs in the region.

If you are interested, please comment on this thread or send me an email / private message and I would be grateful to talk to you about it. I think if I get small team of writers, web designers and the like together, this could be a really successful project which could be put before the media.

I have a past in working with The Next Web and other British startups like Buffer which has recently moved from the States to Asia.

I look forward to speaking with you!

Good luck Jonny. After meeting you and reading some of your blogs and articles on The Next Web I think this could be a really cool and much needed resource for the North East.

I'm from near Newcastle myself! South Shields, to be exact.

I'm not sure how well it will fair, but trying it could only ever be a positive thing really. It's something for the good of the area with the purest of intentions, so I'm all for it!
