I think the government are planning no-go zones for door to door sales etc but apart from that I believe it's okay to do that sort of thing - I get enough stuff come through my door and nobody seems to do anything about it.

In fact some cheeky little girls demanded I paid them £2 for washing a car I didn't even ask them to wash in the name of "charity". They sent a flyer earlier in the week saying if the car was parked outside the house they'd wash it and force me to pay them - why should anyone have to move their cars for the likes of them chumps? It's daylight robbery, I'm sure they weren't officially licensed charity workers, they were about 10. I should have reported them immediately!

Okay rant over

Stunts like your car washers lead to these ideas that cold calling is bad.

Of course repeat leafleting is offline spam.

If you leave it on my car windscreen I will remove it to the floor and then the local council may decide you are littering.

ok thanks.
Its not for washing cars. Its just to promote my website. Also how about cars that are parked in say a supermarket carpark, will they chase me?

i honestly have no idea but when someone puts a leaflet on my windscreen, i VERY rarely read it which in turn might mean a waste of time for you and un-nessecary costs.

I personally think (but im sure many people wont agree with me) that if its a website your trying to get hits for then you should keep it to an online market (although offline never hurts).

You could try and get advertisement on other website maybe through an affliate scheme.

I will happily display your banner / logo on my website once its up

i dont know :S *shrugs*

Supermarkets will probably not like it and also are there rules (if it is for a gambiling site) about promoting to those under 18? 17 year olds drive, kids go with parents to supermarkets.

Yeah you have to be carful with gambling sites and kids. Saying that though there are adverts for gambling sites all over the TV and kids of all ages see them. I would try a targeted approch for something like that, instead of leaflets to a large amount of people..

Yeh true, Thanks for your advice. I'm going to start off by giving them out outside casinos in the evenings and see what happens.

I had the same question last week, its probably a good idea to contact your council, apparently some local authorites have banned it from city centres (groan) see www.direct.gov.uk for links to local authorities, but good luck to you in finding out an answer from your council!

I would think privately owned places won't want you to do it but at worst they will just tell you to go away

You can drop flyers through people's doors no problem, so long as you don't address it to them.

Hope this helps and good luck!
