lol aw
Well atleast u know what not to do now! We were brainstorming ideas and the only things we've come up with are selling those usb pen drives or what ever they're called beacuse the teachers are telling all students they need them and other things people in our college need. We dont really know whether we will stick with that though. |

The Young Enterprise thing disappointed me in school.
The way i see it, you've got a real opportunity to do something great with it. You can generate press coverage really easily in local papers, which gives you a nice little tool when you come to doing deals with other businesses. You've also got the "nice" thing going for you - you're a group of schoolkids getting involved in business: "awww how cute - let's go out of our way to help them out". No one had "the balls" to try and do anything big or challenging; instead we made "house number signs". zzzzzzz. My advice would be to think big, and use the opportunity to do something you couldn't normally do. Like with the usb storage idea... don't try to sell them 1 by 1 to the students, go to the college "headermaster" and put a deal to him to buy the devices/subsidise them for all students. If there is a budget for this type of thing then hit all the schools in the area. Good luck with it and don't let the whingers and nay-sayers hold you back

You could make this a test run for any future business plans you may have. It'll allow you to test the waters for a certain product range and give you a head start on creating business plans and things. You'll just have to hope that no-one else in your team has the same idea

Same here, we didnt have any enterprise thing at school.
Richard does have a point there about press coverage being easier to get. Add to that a percentage of what you earn will go to charity and your press releases should get picked up quickly if they are writen properly. Definatly a decent oppertunity. Well done and good luck. |
