Launch of www.1st-for-furniture.co.uk

Thanks to Chris at Blackfusion Media Ltd (www.blackfusion.co.uk) who has helped get my new website up and running, just working through some finishing touches and adding text to information pages.(a very tedious task!)

I'd appreciate any feedback on the site, problems, comments etc, and spelling checks! (i'm useless so cant spot them!)

I should have my credit card account tomorrow for the site, so the paypal will be going for good, its just temporary so you can all pay for your orders of furniture!!!

Hey,

I think it looks great, very easy to use, and extremely well designed.

My only one criticsm (their alwasy has to be one, lol) - the logos on the left bottom side (i.e. yahoo, froogle) there a little too close together. I would space them out, perhaps leaving a line in between.

Other than that, fantastic - a huge improvement on the last site.

Btw, were you in 'The News' (free paper) last a couple of fridays back?

Your newsletter isn't working, I get an error which says....

"No products can be found in this category" when I enter my email address into the newsletter signup field

not that i'm aware of adam, i have been in several local papers recently, and not known about it as they all share stories. What area are you located in?

Had a lot of local newspapers picking up on the fact that i have a film crew here filming for new channel 4 learning programme!

just searched the net for it, and the publishers are the same company as i the local papers i've appeared in, so it probably was me!

Nice looking site, but your category headings on the left aren't looking so good in Firefox and your buttons need attention. And why on earth do you want to know how old I am if I'm buying furniture? That's a bit of a personal bugbear with me.

Designwise the bottom half is far weaker than the top half, but other than that it's a clean and functional site.

fraser, the unusual thing is...i also have a shop! well, its a fully converted barn, that is all set up like a house, so you can see the furniture displayed if you want to see the quality etc.

Also be advised they are big brand names, so many people can view the range beforehand at a local store, before buying cheaper on the net.

Only 2 months til the end of my first year now, and i've actually taken enough orders this week to cover for the marketing and design of the site. Well worth the investment i think.

That is outstanding and just goes to show what a well constructed and presented web site built by a professional can do for your business...
