That export guide trivia is great...if not simply for highlighting the niche role 'Cool/Rule Britannia' branding plays in so may areas - OUTSIDE GB !!
Joking apart;it explains why all the foreign vistors I see in Harrods spend £4 on Harrods brand tea (ie,just to get the Harrods carrier bag,which they see as epitomising upper-class British lifestyle )and why in the hip area in Tokyo (Shibuya) all the teenage girls are C R A Z Y for anything that is British / British looking in origin (...explains why so many of them go around with *funky* looking T Shirts with nonsensical *English*? logos and mottos on them - eg,"Cool Tea Lover " or "Shine Yellow Tree" )
