OT: Speed limited in France

I am going in holiday in two weeks' time and this year will be France. I will rent a car there as I am a big fan of driving but I have no idea about the maximum speed limit in France. Could anyone help me?

Strange question for a business forum.....but.....

just driven to Paris and back last weekend and the speed limit is 130kph (about 80mph) normally or 110kph (about 70mph) in the wet - on major roads anyway.

Dont forget to get those sticky strips which you apply to you headlights so that you dont blind anyone as as result of driving onthe other side of the road. You can probably get them in most motoring stores as well as on the ferry.

Jose: I drove in mainland Europe for nearly nine years so there will be no problem for me driving on the other side of the road.
