What insurance do I need?

Hi folks...

Almost ready to go live here...
It's an IT support company and wondering what insurance I need.
I'm guessing public liability - anything else??
Also anyone got any costs for these?

Hi,

Cant speak from experiance, but a biz link course I went on talked about Public Liability, say if you give someone the wrong info, and they try plug a toaster into a USB and happen to burn themselves & sue you, then I think this insurance safeguards against wrong advice.

Dont quote me though!

Rgds,
Ben.

insurances you should have...

Professional indemnity is very advisable as we are slowly becoming 'sue happy' like the US.

If you have clients visiting your home or premises you will need public liability too, also if you have employees or freelancers working on your premises/in your home, you will need public liability.

I received an excellent quote (and subsequently signed up to) a policy with Richard Anim of Launceston Online - it was over £100 cheaper than HSBC (my prev insurer), and the policy was much more comprehensive and geared towards IT or 'internet' professionals so far better matched my needs.

Their customer care was really good also.
