Augmented Humanity and the Future of Business

Hi Guys!

I've recently been speaking with some online role-models of mine such as Chris Guillebeau, Trever Clarke, Crystal Silver etc, and the topic of augmented humanity (the conjoining of technology with our lives) kept cropping up, so I've been thinking about how this might influence business in the future; how it will impact the way we work with employees and clients, how the use of offices could become obsolete, how IT storage systems may become a thing of the past etc.

I've published the mini-essay here; and though people on the forums might be interested in reading it in case it help you see a slightly new angle on the ways in which business might be headed...

Oh and also, I just thought I'd share my new proud accomplishment! I've just launched my first free ebook!! It's all about how to 'Work-Smart', that is, focusing on what's important to ensure you don't spend your time faffing, but rather spending your energies on important tasks....

You can get it here if anyone's interested to give it a look over and provide any feedback It's so far been downloaded over 150 times and I've had some great, positive words sent my way, which makes it all worthwhile!

(I hope that link's allowed)

Augmented reality has been talked about for some time and there are some good examples out there which show its capabilities. I had trouble getting my head round it initially but its all about layers over real spaces/objects. Its an exciting piece of technology and there are endless possibilities/applications which imo will make it pretty revolutionary. The great thing about is its level of engagement with people as its get their full attention. Lots of big brands have experimented with it and I'm sure it will be more accessible for small businesses in the near future as the technology develops. Here are a couple of vids showing what it can do:

How do you embed videos rather than post links?

I have a friend at University doing a dissertation in this area, if you dont i'll pass it on to him so he can read it and give you some feedback. No doubt it would be very useful to him as well.
