How long to process a refund?

Hi all
I've tried to find this out by looking at old threads etc, but no luck so far. Does anyone know how long a refund takes if you are using Streamline? I've read through all my Streamline bumph and nothing!

What do you mean by refund? Who is giving the refund and who is receiving it?

I'm giving the refund, the customer's receiving it. Although hopefully this won't be happening too often!

I was just wondering how long it takes for a refund to go through, from me putting it through to them getting the money back in their account.

I'm not 100% sure, but I would have thought it takes roughly the same as the initial transaction, about 3 or 4 days to reach their account.

I haven't issued very many refunds, but it is pretty straight forward if I remember correctly.

How much are you paying for your card facility, if you don't mind me asking?

I'm doing it through the Giftware Association, so it's pretty good rates. I can't remember off the top of my head but they waived the set up fee and it's 1.something % for credit cards. If you need to know in more detail I'll message you about it once I've dug it out of the paper mountain on my dining table, sorry, desk!

Is there a monthly service charge / minimum transaction amount per month ?

Hmmm, I feel we're getting slightly off the point, but hold on....
Ok the charges are 1.57% (credit cards) and 20p (debit). No sign of monthly service charge.

If you were quick, and the transaction was on the same day - you might not have a delay, as the money won't be taken.

The last CC machines I used were like this.

It can also depend when the batches run. With Protx, if you void a transaction before the batch runs at 2am then it won't actually come off the card.

If you refund after the batch runs then the refund won't get processed until the following days batch.

It then takes a further 2-3 working days to appear on the customers card.
