New Rebelo Site: Feedback?

Hello.

After a long think and some advice from friends I decided in the end to continue under the Rebelo name and therefore I'm after some feedback on the new site (link in the signature).

This is the first Rebelo site in while, and its long overdue.

Hopefully the 'About' section explains what Rebelo does for those of you that don't know.

The main areas I'm interested in are:
~ Can you tell what Rebelo is?
~ Can you tell what Rebelo does?
~ Can you tell who Rebelo is aimed at?
~ If you needed them, would the site make you want to use the services?

As always all help appreciated.

hi lee , once many congrats on being on the radio, that sun fm is pants pmsl but then what radio station isnt lol but its always good to get quality publicity and radio advertising is one of the best forms around if not the best. I love the new site is cool, crisp , well highlighted colours and very indepth in providing information on whats happen within the business day to day and also great additional pictures to create insight to the work you do , and to support the info on the day to day life of the business.

I do however think that the design works well.

opinion of a regular guy ofcourse, I'm no expert in web design

The site looks great, very fresh and interesting. I get a good sense of the kind of artists you're working with and the kind of services you offer, but the services part IMO should be a bit more prominent? The first thing clients should see when they get to your home page is 'yes, this guy does what we want' and while the 'about' and 'services' pages are very well written and clear, I think adding some of that text above the blog entries on the home page would stop them having to dig about to find exactly what you do. (I know it's not a lot of digging... but having it right there in front of them would help). ATM it could be mistaken by someone in a hurry for a well-designed personal homepage. Perhaps you could have the first page they see be the 'about' page and then they can click on the blog later.

I'm looking at the moment at possibly having front page to lead the site a little more.

I really really love the logo and nav bar. One thing I would perhaps think about is slightly increasing the space between the bottom of the nav and top of the content, and reducing the size of your sidebar headings (h2) as they look too similar to the navigation.

If you concerned that people don't know your purpose, maybe put a few line below/above your nav - "Rebelo is a art collective and design agency based in the Northeast of England." I've seen loads of sites putting a key sentence in the design and it would be good for SEO purposes as well?

Other than that, I really like it - clean, modern and funky.

I'm interested to hear peoples views on the whether or not they think its a problem that when you on the information pages of the site such as Service, About etc, that you can see the blog sidebar?

The site looks clean, modern and I love the logo.
The link you provided to monrex doesn't work by the way.
I can see similarities between your site and Scrawl Collective, and I think your site will be of better use when your portfolio is up.
Some of the content on your site makes intense reading, but on the whole i think it fits the bill.
I don't think its a problem that you can see the sidebar. If anything it is useful in the fact you can access the next page of interest without clicking back every time.

I do like it, but I'm not sure about the background - at high resolution, that's a LOT of grey.

I think you need to do something with your homepage, too - the homepage should be like the front page of a magazine, showing what's inside.
