I have no idea why sadly, it's just the words of the admin and shell-livewire staff. I have asked before and was told it didn't look like it was going to be done any time soon. Sorry I can't help further.

i been a member of another forum for years and the private messaging feature has been a good basis for friendship growth with other members on the site

Agreed, people, as they say, buy people and I also have found that having a PM feature allows for the building of stromger and more productice working relationships....

This is a facility that is not going to be reactivated, so it's pointless starting a mini poll.

There are loads of safe gaurds you can put in place make private messaging user friendly and safe for the members etc So I don't really see why, if the members want it as a feature (the site does exist for its members right?) they shouldn't politely and respectfully ask the site owners to bring it back.....

Look we have asked about this MANY times and the people who run the Shell board have said NO many times so what do you expect to be done about it. Rather than going around in circles on the forum why don't you contact the people who own the site and tell them what you need because believe me we have already tried.
