Could everyone please share their experiencies in what kind of marketing and advertising you have used for your business?

I'd be happy to talk you through some ideas if you want to drop me a line.

In terms of what I use for marketing a professional services company, here's 5 "top tips":

1. Give away lots of free stuff and information - building a good database of customers and potential customers to market to over time
2. Create good relationships with people who operate in related industries who can then pass on business
3. Some direct marketing - mail mostly
4. Lots of networking online and off
5. Ask for and encourage/reward referrals from satisfied customers

Do a bit of each of them and you'll be well on your way.

MySpace,
Link exchanges,
Direct mail,
email campaigns,
going to see my potential customers
online banners,
google,
telephone sales,
referral program,
competitions,
maybe some kind of sponsorship,
sms,
blogging,
giving away free things,
ads in local papers,
podcast,
events,
and hopefully some kind of viral campaign.

So...theres a lot for me to be getting on with!
