Chat on website

Hi All,

Hope you can help me out here, i'm looking to incorporate into my website a feature where people can contact me through a chat window direct from my site.

Just wondered if anyone has/has used such a system and if so how usefull have you found it??

You are looking at arounf $30 a month hosted option with liveperson or boldchat.

I use the free version of websitealive.com which is fine. There is no advertising, just your customisation options are a bit more limited.

However if all you want is a basic option this is great, the free version even allows you 2 proactive chat requests per session.

Or you can host live support on your own server, so you do have an additional monthly bill.

A list of scripts with reviews can be found on:

LiveHelp is a good script, and it is only approx £50 to purchase:

With LiveHelp, you can install a messenger programme onto your own PC, to monitor the live chat requests.

Pretty sure you can do this with Meebo (ie, use your existing IM client to chat to people on your website).
