Database help, please!

Hi guys,

I've been doing some free design work for a student's association, and they've now approached me with a semi-urgent plea for help with some development stuff. This is not my field, and I do normally pass this over to a developer contact, but... she's pregnant. So, I'm on my own for this.

Basically, they need to have an online system where members of their association can log in and sign up for an event. As each event will have limited places, there should be a means of a) seeing how many tickets are left and b) not letting the members sign up if all the places are gone. Ideally, they will be able to see who else has signed up, so if their mates have signed up, they'll want to come along to.

Bearing in mind that the organisation does not have any money to spare (what do you expect coming from students, eh?), I'm looking for a freebie. Does anyone know of any script that might be able to do at least some of what they're asking for?

Cheers

Shona

Try one of these:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/openres/

http://www.solunas.org/

http://sourceforge.net/search/?type_...online+booking

None will be exactly right, but should cover most things, I might be able to help altering if necessary
