You may not have noticed, but I said that because he was just searching for forum posts to reply to without even checking the dates. This was a quick warning (not official), he proceded to then spam the board in another thread. In between this I had already emailed him as he was new so he could read the rules. Maybe people should just let us get on with the job and understand we do have the best interests of the forum at heart. If you still feel this thread is harsh or uncalled for, please contact a moderator or Sharon directly who will deal with the situation. This is a business discussion forum, not a marketplace as had been said many times. Regards, Martin |

I didn't think Martin's warning was that harsh.
I wish people would start to realise that bad advertising works against them, Andi's post wasn't even a reply, it was an ad stuck in the middle of a thread. A vending website sent the worst marketing out, they were severely let down by their marketing company. I spoke to them about it and went through how to send good unsolicited emails and they have now changed how they do it and given me a free ad. So whether you do or do not flout the rules on self promotion, do it in a good way. |

It's cool; I hadn't seen the earlier spammage...
In light of that - good call! I can't stand it when people spam message boards either.

the price gets proportionally cheaper as your run length increases for a simple reason: because it is more cost effective (to a point) to do larger runs than small runs, and printers pass that cost saving on to you. a decent print company should be as able to print you 500 as 5,000 with little or no variation. printing isn't an exact science (nothing is!) but it's a matter of tolerances, and knowing what is an acceptable variation (ideally, not a lot...). to sum up: cheaper prices at higher runs shouldn't mean less care is taken, and that the quality diminishes. if you have a significant variation across your print, then discuss with your printer and if it is out of tolerance they should have a procedure for dealing with that (print credit, reprint etc.) know what the tolerance is before you start though and you can make a decision as to whether or not you can tolerate that tolerance (!) if your printer can't explain their tolerances and the procedure they have for dealing with any issues that arise, then steer clear (even if they are the cheapest)
