AAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!! someone must have the answer!!!!!

I am going out of my damn mind!!!

I am managing to get everyting in place for my new busiess, a shop and e-commerce site selling extreme sportswear.
Located my premises, getting my site designed, worked out my funding. BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY DECENT SUPPLIERS!!!!!

I've registered with firstwholesaler and other sites but they all supply standard sportwear suppliers offering Nike, Adidas, Umbro.....not the products i need.

Does anyone here or has anyone come accross a wholeselaer company who specialises in the sale of extreme sportswear like Vans, Animal, O'Neil, Billabong, Zoo York, Etnies, DC etc...

Hope someone can help!

Hi there,

This may be obvious, but have you tried contacting the actaal designers? May seem silly, but they may be able to put you in touch with suppliers. They may even supply you!

Worth a shot.

Have you looked at/ picked up a copy of "The Trader" ? You can get it from your newsagents (or WH Smiths) or try the online site at: Maybe you will come across something there.

Tried thetrader, no good unfortunately!
Have also tried contacing the manufacturers too, as they are big companies none have come back to me. Suppose they can't be bothered with a small company like me who may order couple hundrend quids worth of stuff each month! They prefer orders in the thousands!!!
I have managed to get in contcat with a few smaller designers and will probably stock their apparel but any shop in this market will have to stock the main brands in order to be recognised!!

Anymore advice please post

Ryan, I'm a great fan of Quicksilver, VANS etc and I usually buy my stuff from - they're the retail arm of the Extreme Sports Channel. Their clothing is a lot cheaper than any shops.

If you haven't yet seen them, have a look at - they're likely to be your biggest competition.

Hi Ryan

Have you tried finding out when there are trade fairs in your product area? A search on google or askjeeves should tell you when and where they are - this is how I found most of my suppliers.

The companies you need mainly deal direct to traders like yourself. It keeps the cost down for their customers (no middle men).
My advice is that you list all of the manufacturers you want (vans, hawk, adio etc...) then contact them via their websites for a price list. You'll also save more money in the long run and have a greater mark up.
