online networking website suggestions please

I spoke to someone recently who mentioned that online networking was nearly as important as face to face networking and suggested I sign up to as many online business forums/groups etc.

Can anyone on here suggest forums/groups I can join (ideally free ones buddies!!!)?

Mods, I think this subject is quite useful to others too-so er wave your magic wands and give us some input too Could this post be a future sticky post? Who knows...

UKBusinessforums.co.uk is very busy but sometimes too busy.

Then there are others like Ecademy that I feel are over the top in being like a cult in sharing contact details and building groups etc.

Lol, I was looking for contacts on ecademy from this forum, found this while reading through and felt I had something relevant to add to it.
