I was just wondering if its against the forum rules to ask members to complete a survey regarding my business idea?

What type of Business do you own/run ?

Where is your Business Based ?

Do you do your own bookkeeping & accounts or outsource them to an outside agency ?

If you outsource, in which areas, i.e

Payroll/HR/Bookkeeping/Debt Collection & Credit Control/ Self Assesment, or All areas.

If you do not outsource your accounts,would you consider it ? If not why not ?

Would you consider my idea to start up a business in this field to be

Very Good/Good/Average/Poor/Very Poor (please give reasons)

In your business experience, would you say that there is a large market for this type of business?

How do you rate the following business name on ascaleon 1 - 5. 1 Being the highest and 5 the lowest.

Hi Louise,

Take a peek at these websites, they allow you to build a online survey which you can post the link to - or email to whoever you'd like to answer it. You will also receive the answers by email.

It's just people are lazy, and you'll receive a much better response if you make it quick and easy for them.

I'd bare in mind that your sample might be biased in an important way if you just receive answers from the people on this forum.

Well, obviously I don't know the sample that Louise02 is going for, but shell livewire is aimed at helping 16-30 year olds start and develop their own businesses. So there's the age you'd probably want to consider, and the fact that allot of the members will be in the process of starting up.

If Louise02 was going for a sample of all business owners, her sample would be biased because she's only getting 16-30 year olds with fairly new businesses, who can use the internet well, and have enough time to devote to being a member of a forum.

Altho she has posted above, and it would appear to me this is a very good sample of people to ask.

Many here will require the services which she offers, and established businesses will likely have contacts already.

Martin thanks for your help (still working on the on line questionaire).

neoeno i understand what you are saying,however it seems to me that the majority of the forum members do actually run there own business.

This was meant to be aimed at all ages of business people, i have a large list of companies in my area that i am going to contact by phone,or by post. I thought it would be a good idea to run it by the members of this forum first as they are very helpful and i know i will get honest feed back. Just because most members are under thirty does not mean that they have no experience in business, some people could have been in business for up to ten years or more.
