Can Anyone recomend a merchant account provider for small businesses that doesnt have bank accounts.

Sorry if I've misunderstood the question but that's basically impossible.

A merchants account acts as a "bridge" between your customers credit/debit card and your own bank account.

Without a bank account how can you collect the money?

That's an amazingly simplified explanation, but it gives you an idea.

But neither Clickbank or pppay are merchant accounts. I think you're confused between third party processors such as PayPal, Nochex etc and a merchant account.

Even PayPal require to have a bank account assuming you don't want to leave your money in there forever which in itself is a really bad idea

I'll be setting up online payments soon through my web-site so it would be useful if someone could clarify:

If I have a business bank account and sign up to Worldpay will that provide me with the right tools to accept payments online. Or will I need to use some shopping cart software.

Any clarification on this would be a great help.

WorldPay do provide a form based gateway that you can use to take the final payment. You can also adapt this page so that it fits in with the rest of your site.

But you still need to get the payment details to it.

Luckily WorldPay is very established, albeit pricey, and the vast majority of carts such as osComerce, xCart, etc all have plug ins to use WorldPay as the payment gateway. You also have the option of using a web developer to create the cart which would increase your flexibility further.
