where to start

i'm 21 years old and would really love to open my own bar, really funky and fresh, only a few problems - i've never done a mangement course, low on money and have no idea where to start. Want to start putting some serious plans together but feel abit lost.
any help or advice welcome.

Hi Kirsty

I would suggest a short business course - your local support organisation should be able to point you in the right direction:
England - contact Business Link, Tel: 0845 600 9006 or www.businesslink.org
Scotland - contact Business Gateway, Tel: 0845 609 6611 or www.bgateway.com
Wales - contact Business Eye, Tel: 08457 96 97 98 on or www.businesseye.org.uk
Northern Ireland - Contact 'Go For It', Tel: 0808 127 0000 or
www.sabp.co.uk

Not to put you off but there is a huge amount of capital needed for this type of venture.

You will need to do your research and find an ideal location. Put together as comprehensive a Business Plan as you can. http://www.shell-livewire.org/downloads/busplan.pdf

Also contact The Princes Trust http://www.princes-trust.org.uk/

All the best

Sharon
