O/T - Email from Paypal anyone?

Hi,

I've had an email from Paypal saying .....

Security Centre Advisory!

We recently noticed one or more attempts to log in to your PayPal account from a foreign IP address and we have reasons to believe that your account was hijacked by a third party without your authorization. If you recently accessed your account while travelling, the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you.
If you are the rightful holder of the account you must click the link below and then complete all steps from the following page as we try to verify your identity.
If you choose to ignore this request your account may be temporally limited until this matter is resolved.
Thank you for using PayPal! The PayPal Team.

Does this sound dodgy? I have been Christmas shoping online and may have accidently entered the wrong password?! So I was just wondering if anyone else has had anything similar?

Thanks
Emma

This is a hoax email. The link contained within the email takes you to a spoof paypal page where you enter your username and password, thus giving the 'spoofers' your details.

My husband had this email a few weeks ago, he emailed it to paypal (spoof@paypal.com) and they confirmed it was not them.

Don't touch it...just delete or forward to paypal.

I don't believe this is real.

Try logging in (by typing the address in a browser - don't use the email link) and check your account - messages show up in a box if you have any unread.

If needs be, contact them (while logged in) using the web site contact page.

Regards,

Martin
