Link Swapping Idea
Whilst trying to do some link swapping and SEO for Student Canvas i found this page on the UKBF forum.
http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/fo...ad.php?t=10644 For those of you who cant be bothered it basically suggests everyone on that forum swapping links to increase page rank. We will update our links page to include text links every 3 days, which will be uder our paid for advertising at www.studentcanvas.co.uk/links.html Think it seems like a really good idea maybe it could be turned it into a sticky if it works? I'll start the ball rolling Student Canvas Link Text : Student Canvas Link URL : www.studentcanvas.co.uk Description : A canvas print firm realising the true potential of your photographs, cutting edge artwork affordably priced.

There are several problems with this.
Basically the algorythms the search engines use to give you your ranking on the SERPS are becoming increasingly complex. It is no longer good enough just having loads of links from pages with no relation to your own. This could even be considered spamming and could reduce your position or even have your site banned from the search engines completely. Secondly if a site which links to your own is linked to in your own site (ie link swapping) this is seen as much less valuable than a link with no link back. It's basically to filter out all the sites which are doing link swapping to boost there rankings. There's all kinds of other stuff but it really is too complex to get into now. Regards, Josh |

I thought it would be good to start a thread where we all listed our company, brief description and link text we could then link together with the companies that were of the same type.
Ideally it would be groups of 3 a to b : b to c : c to a which google rates highly, didnt really explain it originally
