Website / Forum
Who am I? He responsible for delivering new website and on-line services. Resident in Belfast office. 34 years young. Married (to a woman!) with 3 cubs. Celebrating 10 year's service to Livewire in 2006. Now leave me alone......
Official Statement: We are currently working on re-designing the website and obviously the forum. You'll be glad to know that we are planning to give the forum a higher profile, up-date the software and add a few nice features. The website will have a completely new 'look and feel' and will focus primarily on Shell Livewire's core activities. We plan to add a business profiler (directory) and have some specialists conduct live web chats for example. We hope to provide you with a better 'Shell Livewire' on-line experience. I would ask you to bear with us while we put all this together, but we should have the beginings of something new by the end of march. The launch will be phased and we would appreciate your thoughts and feedback as we go along! Keep the faith! Mikipedia (Michael) |

To stop people advertising in the main site, have you thought about an area where people can? A section where people can make offers to the other members and you can then just move the offending topics to this section.

'Perhaps this problem could be resolved by adding an extra section to the "submit new thread" page in a nice bright colour that stands out saying:
You're not responding to an existing post, please only press submit if: a)You are offering a service, help or advice to other members of the forum b) You are not simply advertising your business without providing benefit to others' DeterminedOne |

Forum posting idea!!
Hi ppl,
This idea probably won't stop the most persistant spammer, but why don't the forum developers setup the forum in such a way that a certain number of new forum members messages have to be monitored and authorized before they appear on the forum? after a certain amount of 'constructive' posts they get the all clear to post - the message will appear instantly and doesnt have to be verified! it may stop quite alot of annoying posts from people and wont clog the forum up with rubbish lol what do you think moderator guys and gals?

I think we should have a sticky post with special offers on for shell members only on the new forum.
I do think this service could get abused though, by spammers etc. I do support the whole idea of not allowing new members to post a new thread straight away. I've been on a forum (not business related) but you have to have 50!!!! posts before you can even post a link....extremism? Prehaps but it stops spammers ![]() Princess

some people with expertise/experience write some very imformative and useful posts which could be very useful for everyone such as a post recently on the
'How Can I Find Out Information About My Competitors Without Them Realising !' and another one yesterday about the process of thinking of names for products/companies could some of these individual posts be gathered together? as they kind of get lost in the forums. I know the forum is very transient but it would be useful for some of these exceptionally useful posts (subjective i know) to be filtered out and put together for future reference as they are pretty darn good in some cases.
