Looking at that link now.... Basically it's who can cram the most keywords into their site as possible? Sounds productive....

It was just a bit of fun, but highlighted to me how well the Social Network is indexed by search engines.

That's why we're so popular with Chinese spammers because posting something on our Social Network guarantees them a certain amount of traffic and clickthroughs.

Obviously much better to write useful, informative content on the blog rather than spammy posts full of keywords. My recommendation is therefore to see the Social Network blog as a place to cut and paste your latest news which you've already written for your own website or blog. Chances are you'll get more reads and clickthroughs by doing more.

Hi Dave,

are you meaning that the Social Network blog won't work on an iPad? If so, the site wasn't designed for iPad but we are planning on introducing a mobile version of the site and (hopefully) some apps this year which will ensure it works on all platforms. I'll be looking for testers too so will give you a shout...

In reply to a question Connor asked me earlier, here's another benefit of using the Social Network blog to talk about your latest news...

On the Shell LiveWIRE Homepage we have a new ‘Latest Site Activity’ feed which pulls through all the latest blog entries, forum posts, news, articles and video on the site. So whenever you post a new blog entry it will not only appear on the Social Network but also on the main site homepage www.shell-livewire.org too
