I am recently getting ALOT of these networking events emails and phone calls. Are the organizers making alot of money out of it? does it cost money to join? I should really listen to the salesmen before i hung up on them lol

Networking has been around for as long we've had businesses. What we have seen in recent years is increased marketing activity, partly due to credit crisis reducing marketing budgets thereby forcing businesses to find more cost-effective ways of marketing of finding new business and accessing new markets, and its working.

It allows for face-to-face interaction and connections with key players. You want to get to speak to a CEO or head of HR or IT, find out where they network, meet up and create a good first impression.

And then of we have Online Networking with all the Social Media sites... we are in interesting times.
