Stills photography pricing
Just a quick question,
I run a film and video production business, but have also been asked to take 30-40 stills photographs for staff profiles to be put on a company website. I've never charged for stills before, so I'm wondering what a reasonable, fair price per photo would be? Any help would be very much appreciated! All the best, Simon |

OK work out what your costs are:
1 - Film (or batteries if it's a digi camera )2 - Time to take the pictures 3 - Time/expenses travelling to the location 4 - Time taken to edit/crop images if you are asked to Mark up the cost reasonably and that's what you charge. Simplistic I know but should give you a rough idea...

about £25-£50 per staff member (you'll prob need to take more than one pic).
is in line with all the places i've seen when researching this sort of thing. |

If £1000 - £2000 can be made doing this I'm going to definately start offering this service to some of my clients. |

Hi guys, thanks for all of the valuable advice!
In the end, I took my normal daily rate for video production, and knocked a bit off and they were very pleased with the price. I charged £450, so I wouldn't think £1,000+ would be out of the ordinary for a high end, well respected photographer that consistently delivers excellent shots. Obviously your average SME would not go for this, but I can imagine big image-concious companies willing to pay such a fee. Many thaks to you all, Simon |
