Valuing a business

Does anyone have any experience of calculating the value of a business? What factors are involved in doing this. Is it purely based around revenue or do many facets come into play?

I heard a sort of general thing was however 2 years profit was. Dont know if this is that good a way but just what Ive heard/read

Its not mine lol, its just an affiliate thing that I read about on here a few weeks ago. Its just advertising space really, but some people have made money from it, like whoever bought Oxford Street for a fiver in the first place!!!
