Help - your opinion needed!
Hi Everyone,
About a month ago, good old Phil with his openmind (sorry about the pun) suggested we use Sitepoint for our logo redesign competition. So we did, and here it is: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/contest/496/ The problem now is that there so many great entries we are having difficulties selecting a winner! What do you think? |

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. After much consideration we decided on: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace...24?#entry28276 Which RSS liked too. Now to choose a redesigned logo to fit the new layout.... |

Hi Seiretto,
Hmmm I must say I don't think that is the right choice, looks very unorganised, and the top looks like its been ripped from a template, I think this one is miles better (http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace...&entryid=22258), its slicker, plus I like the logo, also good grounds to make changes if need be, just thought I would give my 2 cents. Regards Brett White

I must say I'd have to agree with Brett on that one, my personal thoughts are that the one you've chosen is rather Americanised, if you can see my point of view?
I think it shouts "Standard hosting firm" or "templatemonster.com". There's also lots of different colours going-on (although this isn't as bad as what I've seen in the past!) so remember to try and keep things along the same lines when you come to the actual design you use; it'll enforce your branding and won't deter users eyes. I must admit this is one of many sites I've seen thrown to the den at Sitepoint and I'm still not convinced. Don't get me wrong, it's on-budget, but for another few bob you could have enlisted a design agency such as Red Tiger or Peekaboo and you would have achieved your exact aims with a single consultancy firm, completely bespoke and taking everything into consideration commercially. Anyway, well done on getting things done and the very best of wishes - you know where I am if you need any help or suggestions ![]() Alex

Alex,
Thanks for your comments but I really would have appreciated hearing them before the end of the competition! Especially as you state: "this is one of many sites I've seen thrown to the end at Sitepoint ". All a bit too retrospective now. Dave. |

Just the logo redesign to choose now.
What does anyone think of these: http://www.seiretto.com/featuredsites/proposed/ which are the remaining runners up... |

In honesty (and I do pride myself on being honest with everyone), they're pretty bad. Logo A is screaming 1990's IT company, and the others are shouting 'template' again.
I'm going to avoid moaning/ranting about this, but obviously a logo is part of brand development and you should have a professional brand consultancy firm involved that delivers something that'll represent your company. Obviously a logo is the primary part of your brand, so what are you looking to achieve? What are your aims and goals? How do you want to present yourself, what emotions would you like to induce, what impression do you want to give? Sorry if I come across in a bad way, it's not my intention ![]() Alex

Hi Dave,
Sorry ill have to be honest they do look pretty bad, espcially as they are just on a blue background. How will they look black and white? Also does it work across all media? If two design companies on here are not impressed by them, then thats a worry in my view.. Regards Brett White

OK, I dont think the logos on the blue background do them any credit, they look better in situ on the proposed new layout:
http://www.seiretto.com/featuredsite...homepages.html (you need to use your imagination a bit on the first one as the blue background is not yet correct) What do you think? |
