As many of you are aware I was a finalist in the Barclays Handbag.com Best Business plan competition (under 25s category) as reported last week.
Just to let you all know how I got on:
I attended the event in London on Monday and had a fantastic time. I unfortunatley did not win, but was more than happy to be in the final three out of 180 entrants.
I met some nice people on the day and had some really posh food. I got some good business contacts.
I've also got some really good press out of the event.
The best part is that it has opened up more doors for me. I have been contacted by an investor who we're currently talking to about a big investment.
Also, I've been asked to join a new business venture as a Director (one of the other partners was my business mentor through Business Link).
Plus I've joined his team as designer (freelance) in a company that specialises in OS Commerce and other open source web sites.
Oh...and Eagle Imagery is designing a fantastic logo for one of my own ventures: Studeobox.com.
This guy is highly recommended!
Emma.
