Hi I am in the process of setting up an online aromatherapy business. I have recently parted company with my web designer and need a new one who knows about e-commerce etc. I dont know where to start looking or how much I expect to pay!!

Obviously, I don't know where you live but here are some suggestions. Check out some web sites for businesses in your area and if you like them ask them who their designer is or contact your local Business Link who will have access to registered providers, ie people on their register who they have checked out (they may also be able to provide suppport funding).

Hi,
Annepink's advice above is good.
E-commerce site's can cost anywhere between a couple of hundred pounds and tens of thousands, depending on the complexity of the site.
To get the right quote, make sure you're as specific in your brief as possible (how many pages, when you expect the project to be completed by etc etc). For projects like this, many companies have a policy of obtaining 3 quotes before making any commitments. As a rule of thumb, I've often found this a sensible approach.
When you shortlist your web designers, it's often a good idea to get testimonials from previous clients, and it's also a good idea to follow these testimonials up.
Lastly, I'm happy to put you in touch with some good web designers if this is of help. You can contact me through www.thewineadventure.co.uk.
Best of luck.
Best regards,
Pip Martin
