Hello
I really need some direction from an impartial person about my business idea that is unique and will hopefully revolutionaise the way employers recruit and how job seekers can empower themselves.
My name is Phill and I am about to launch 25 employment websites that enable job seekers to advertise a picture of themselves and a mini CV directly on to a website from their mobile phone for only 10p. They can even send up a mini movie clip. NO COMPUTERS REQUIRED. The sites will cover all 69 regions of the UK and i hope they will appeal to employers that are currently advertising job vacancies. The main site that will cover generic employment will be called www.text41job.co.uk. The other employment sites will be specific to certain employment sectors for example: text41nurse, text41teacher, text41engineer, text41sales etc, etc.
Employers can visit the site that caters for their sector and view pictures and mini CV's of keen job seekers. They can then purchase the contact details for a fraction of their press or other vacancy advertising costs incurred. They will then be able to telephone screen the job seeker prior to interview. The job seekers details are fresh and are removed when they find employment. I believe this service will speed up the recruitment cycle and at the same time it will dramatically reduce the costs and time spent by employers. Employers can place a job vacancy directly on to one of our sites directly from their mobile for a small cost and can simply send a STOP text message to us to remove the ad when they have filled the vacancy. This would be ideal for field based personnel and area managers etc so they can continue to be proactive in their role without being behind a desk and PC. Job Agency costs could be dramatically reduced.
I need your comments on the following?
Your initial thoughts about the idea are?
Do i need to be aware of any regulatory bodies when advertising job seekers. (We do not profess to be an recruitment agency.)
Which would be the best way of marketing this to personnel functions and employers throughout the UK, where would you suggest we start, which media, event etc, etc?
What do you think we should charge the employer for each job seekers details?

Kind regards
Phill

Hi Phil,

I'm not sure of the relevance of providing a photo - this could lead to people being discriminated against on grounds of how they look, and while this may not land you in hot water directly, it could have consequences for employers. Also, it could put some people off using your service.

It's certainly a novel idea, and has potential, but maybe for some professions rather than others, and for certain groups of people, eg students looking for temporary work, bar staff, etc.

Thanks for the feedback Lee,
we appreciate it and will consider the impact that the pictures may have in terms of descrimination. Seekers are able to send either a picture with text narrative, narrative on its own or a movie clip so the choice is there. Employers perspective needs to be given more thought by us. Thanks.

Kind regards
Phill jackson
