Marketing Support

I am looking to start up a business providing marketing support to small businesses in my local area (Essex). Can anyone help me with any ideas on what I need to take into consideration?

I have worked in marketing for three years and want to use my experience (only 3yrs!!) and enthusiasm (abundant!!) to help small businesses exploit their potential in ways that they may be neglecting.

Services will include: PR, advertising, online marketing/websites, exhibitions, literature, mailshots etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think the important things to write down first of all are:

1) Exactly who you are aiming at: eg small high street businesses with less than 50 employees in Essex.

2) Exactly what you are offering: eg you say online marketing/websites - will you be actually designing the websites for them?

3) How will you reach them? This is a test of just how good your service is!

4) What will you charge and how will these charges be calculated? Quite often small businesses are inundated with marketing opportunities but don't have the money to splash out.

5) What is your USP? As a marketer I'm sure I don't have to explain that one to you!
