Hi, I'm looking to set up a Recruitment Agency. How will I know when the right time will be to employ somebody ?

Hello
Perhaps there are two reason to employ someone.
1) You have to employ a particular skill that you don't have. This could be on 'day one' and is partly the reason people go into partnerships.
2) If (1) is not he case, the answer is usually when you cannot possible continue the business on your own - as there aren't enough hours in the day.

From my own experience, always try to employ the lowest skill-set you can get away with. For example, could you employ an administrator or a secretary to take some of the admin' burden off you, or do you really have to employ another recruitment consultant? Not only is it less expensive to employ someone to do the admin, their thraining will take less time.

If you can employ 'low skill', don't ignore your family (less worry about the sort of person you are employing!) or part timers. Also, don't ignore the Job Centre - their services are free.

Does this help? Let me know - one way or the other.
