What is a shops markup on clothes?

HELP!!!!
Can anyone just tell me what markup value a clothing retailer might put on the clothes they buy from manufacturers.

I am starting a t-shirt company and i cannot find any information about this shop markups to help me do my pricing of my products.

Everyone seems so secret about this but someone must know!!!!

I have heard values of 2 times to 2.8 times can anyone confirm or deny these values???

I am not sure if there is an exact figure for all clothes retailers, I would think that it is around the 2* ratio. It all depends on what their manufacturers are charging and I would pressume they may get different rates from differing manufacturers.

Your pricing structure will have to be based around what people are prepared to pay and how much you need to make in order to break even.
