im still in the planning stage of my business and am interested in indirect marketing
my business is loosely based on a starbucks theam and i want to know how the usage of logos and printed cups and bags could be used as advertisement, is there a case study on this type of marketing

Marketing is all about raising awareness for your products/services amongst your target group in a place and at a time that will capture their attention.
Marketing can take many different forms and some of the following might be of interest to you.
1. Place an advert in your local paper;
2. Do a leaflet drop in the surrounding area;
3. Consider a mailshot to a particular group of people in your target area using consumer lists;
4. PR - send a press release to your local press, especially if you can link your business with a good 'human' story;
5. Promotions can be a good way to encourage consumers to try out your product/service either at an introductory/discounted price or with an incentive to win prizes, but this area needs careful consideration as there are specific rules on prize draws. For more information on this, contact the Institute of Sales Promotion at www.isp.org.uk.
The British Promotional Merchandise Association www.bpma.co.uk will also be able to offer you information on promotional activities, especially names of suppliers across all categories of products that can be branded with your logo and business details. A visit to one of the two promotional merchandise trade shows - Incentive World, and the National Incentive Show - may also be worthwhile for ideas and tips.
It takes time to build a brand, so don't be tempted to print your logo on everything in sight. This will be expensive as the minimum runs may exceed your requirements in the early stages. More importantly, try and offer products that people want and they keep on coming back for. The loyalty of your customers must be rewarded with good service, quality products, range and price. Then your brand will start taking shape.
