This is EJ Raymond, I am profoundly deaf. I have problem to look for funding that I hope to create film with disabled actors to involve but many companies I have been sent by email and letters, always turn me down. I hope you can help me to manage to find one who open their door for my new film company to collect the funding?

Yours,

Miss EJ Raymond

Hi EJ,

I can think of the following organisations who may be able to help:

The Prince's Trust

The Arts Council, England

Thank you, Lee - I have been try them all. Art Council... if you mean, England - it's not helpful because I live in Scotland. So I have been tried Scottish Art Council but still not helpful.

My business was set up by PSYBT (Prince Scottish Youth Business Trust) which is link to Prince's Trust. Still not helpful toward the funding.

Thank you for your trouble to help me out.

Yours,

Miss EJ Raymond

Hi EJ,

I wonder if the National Lottery Good Causes would be able to help - this sounds like the type of idea they should be helping:

I guess you've already been to Scottish Enterprise:

Hi EJ

I know that both the BBC and Channel 4 have TV programmes specifically for deaf people. I recall that one of them regularly showcases talented deaf filmakers, as well as running competitions to find new talent. It may be that one of them would look into funding your project, or even be able to tell you where they get their funding. Links to both are as follows:

Both also have message boards so it may be advisable to post on them as someone else may be in a similar situation.

Good luck.
Narelle

Hope this is of some help
