Hi, quick question

I am currently in full time employment paying tax and NI.

I am also setting up a partnership company which i will jointly own but will only work for part time.

We are not expecting to see any profit for the first 6-8 months of trading so for this period we probably wont pay ourselves a wage.

What extra NI contribution will i need to pay and what tax issues will there be?

Hi there,
I would advise you give the Inland Revenue a call or ask for an appointment to see one of their advisors at your local Inland Revenue Office.
They can discuss your individual needs and requirements for tax and NI and are usually very helpful (and not as scary as you might expect!) Also your local Business Service (usually listed in the phone book) or Business Link will probably have free information leaflets on tax and NI for new businesses.
