who are the best (in terms of rates & no unwanted surprise payments)& most reputable loan companies? I have been looking at a large number and am uncertain as to how to judge them.

If it is a company loan you are looking for then the most practical place to start is with the company's bankers as they will be more willing to look at your circumstances but you may need to put up personal security to guarantee any loan secured as well as putting in a 50/50 directors investment vs loan request.

If you need to raise a personal loan to invest into the business then the market is huge. You could look at using a Financial advisor to assist with this but if you want to do it yourself I would make sure the rate is competative and that you have no penalties for paying it back early or with lump sums should you wish.

Good luck

Hi,

It may seem rather obvious, but the most reputable companies will be those you find on the high street.

As Sarah said, an independent financial adviser would be a good person to speak to, as they won't have a special affinity with any particular loan provider, and will look to get you the best deal.

Basically, look for things such as interest rates, repayment periods, repayment holiday options (perhaps six months before you have to commence repaying the loan), etc.

Don't forget the high street banks either. You are certainly doing the right thing by shopping around.

Good luck,

Lee
