Web Based Help

I know there are alot of web hosting companies out there but have very little idea of cost and what they're going to want from me.
1) Do i compose all the text that i want for them in word ?
2) On a relatively basic package how many pictures could i upload
3) If i have a basic web site can i still accept online payments without fear of being hacked?
4) How much would i be looking at for a 5 page site with approx. 15 pictures?

I think it's a 'web designer' you're looking for rather than a web host (although you'll need that eventually!).

There are several here who I'm sure will chip-in at some point.
