Hi guys,

I've just set up my own company and would like a logo designed which I will then trademark...

Can anyone help?

I can't pay, however I will be able to give you or your company an advert in the magazine I'm releasing this May.

And my car bumper gets seen by that many people each week but I wouldn't ask a garage to repair it free in return for a bumper sticker...

Your hosting account has been suspended! Maybe they'll advertise with you in exchange for the hosting cost :D

If you are serious about your business then why not loan the money from somewhere to pay for a logo? I'm assuming you've already managed to pay for software, designing, printing and publishing of your magazine, so this is just another expense.

Edit: You even have an article in your mag about finding startup money!!!

.........as phil says. I mean how much does it cost for a decent logo?

I am sure for a modest budget of (say) 200 you would get something pretty top notch from the off which would be cheaper than getting a **** one now and changing everything in 6 months time.

Trademarking would prolly cost more than most logo design services.

No-Spec has a good article explaining how hiring people for free/speculative work actually harms the person doing the hiring;

You will find this to all be true once you come through the other end of the 'design process'. No designer will put their heart and soul into free work, thus your design will not pack the same punch as something you paid a decent sum for.

Believe it or not, good design does have a direct impact on your business. If you don't believe it now, you will find this out over time no doubt and (whisks hand over crystal ball) I see a 'redesign' in your future.

Someone here says "Pay cheap, pay twice" and that is what is going to happen to you.
