hi everyone

Im in the process of looking into whether to set up my own clothes boutique.

I want to sell both mens and womens clothing inc footwear , accessories etc.

I would really appreciate if any men could answer a few questions for me? just yes/no will be fine!

1. Would you be likely to shop in a small boutique?
2. Would the clothes have to be mainstream brands e.g. G-Star, Diesel, French Connection etc?
3. Would you be put off if the decor of the shop was feminine?

Thankyou to anyone who answers! Your input will be of great value!

1. I buy most, if not all, of my clothes in smaller/boutique style shops.

2. More unique or exclusives brands are far better than mainstream makes. Even if the price is higher.

3. Not at all. As long as it was made clear that the shop sold Men's clothes as well as Women's.

1. I'd happily shop in a smaller boutique; I like the thought of finding somewhere small and personal, off the beaten path.

2. I'd happily buy a brand (or unbranded) I'd never heard of provided I liked the look and feel of the garment.

3. If the decor was very feminine and it was not made apparent that men's clothes were available, I might walk past the shop unaware. Marketing would play a big factor especially if you create a physical shop. Will you have an online presence?

1. Yes, love to
2. No, I'd prefer fairtrade or organic to big brands
3. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest- however you may find men walking past dont go in on the assumption it only sells womens clothes.

1. Would you be likely to shop in a small boutique?
Yes - depending on location

2. Would the clothes have to be mainstream brands e.g. G-Star, Diesel, French Connection etc?
For me yes and probably most guys but if you sell to a niche its definately different

3. Would you be put off if the decor of the shop was feminine?
Probably it would be a bit strange

Hi and thanks!

Could I just ask you what your ideal location would be? Would it be in a town centre or close to home?

Given my dislike of driving.

Within walking distance of a bus stop.

may be for a lot of people a out of town mall is a good bet :(

city centre

think location is one of the key factors of making it a success
