Postcard Promo Advice

Hi there.
i run a skincare product company in the north of Scotland. specialising mainly in products for conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema & Dermatitis. Carrying out a promo at the end of the month & i'm getting some A5 promo postcards made to post out to customers on our database that are frequent buyers. Was thinking along the lines of BUY 2 get 1 FREE or something. My question is: Has anyone carried out any promo's like this before? Any advice that can be given before l throw myself into this? Certain KEYWORDS on the postcard that will draw the customer to the sale?
Any kind words of advice are greatly appreciated!

you need to consider your target audience.

-are they all existing customers, or potential customers?
-are they members of the public or businesses?
-are they buying for themselves or to re-sell?

Just FYI, a company who specialise in printing high quality postcards, with the individual addresses on each one and a postage paid mark, is www.everydayprint.co.uk. All you do is chuck em in the postbox!
