Neil Jordan and Kieran Middleton of Mex2Go walked away with the 2001 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The duo behind Edinburgh-based Mex2Go, Kieran Middleton and Neil Jordan walked away with the prestigious title and £10,000 in cash. In a strange quirk it is a second victory for the Middleton family as he follows in the footsteps of his enterprising wife, Kerri Binnie Middleton, who was the 2000 Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Scotland) winner with her company K2 Product Design.
Branded for expansion, Mex2Go, is a Mexican take-away outlet serving Mexican food and beer. The chain was just a year old at the time of winning, employed 10 full and part-time staff and achieved a first year turnover of £150,000 with a second outlet in Edinburgh's Haymarket area just about to open.
